Chef Matthew McPhelin graduated with honors from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia. Since then he refined his culinary skills and his creativity flourished when he worked in the award winning kitchens in Philadelphia. Matt finally realized his dream of opening his own restaurant in 2009.
Everything on our menu is made from scratch. We choose locally grown items, at the peak of their season. Our menu changes weekly.
Maize is another word for corn, which is an indigenous food to America. In Native American language the word "Mahiz" (Maize) means "that which sustains us". Maize allowed early settlers to withstand the first winter. Native Americans offered popcorn as a sign of hospitality to welcome guests. We welcome you to come and experience Maize restaurant. It will be an experience like no other.
BYOB - You are welcome to bring your favorite wine or beer. we'll keep it chilled for you and there is no corkage fee. Non-alcoholic beverages are available for sale.
Relaxed Dining - Maize offers a relaxed dining experience. Everything on the menu is made from scratch, and made to order. Parties of two can expect a 2-2½ hour dining experience.

Parking - Free on-street parking is available, or park in the free municipal lot at 7th and Walnut Streets.
